Temple Gan Elohim traces its origins to a Northwest Valley chavurah, and chavruot remain a significant part of temple life. A chavurah is an informal group of families, couples or individuals who decide to build, enrich and develop their Jewish lives together. Chavurah – from the Hebrew word chaver (friend) – is a wonderful way for our members to develop friendships and become more integrated into the Temple Gan Elohim community.

The Men's Club is an active part of the Temple Gan Elohim Community, whether donating kiddish cups to those become b'nai mitzvah or ushering at High Holy Days services. The Men's Club, which uses proceeds from its annual rummage sale not only to remain financially self-sufficient but also to donate money back to the congregation as a whole, meets on the second Wednesday of every month.

Gan Elohim Temple Youth (GETY), TGE's branch of the North American Federation of Temple Youth, was founded in December 2006 after a series of B'Nai Mitzvot in 2004 and 2005. With a focus on fun, friendship and social action, GETY participates in temple-level events such as bowling outings and trips to Gameworks. GETY members also have participated in NFTY Southwest-Pacific Regional Events, such as the Spring Kallah in north Phoenix.
Sharon Weiner, herself a NFTY graduate, has served as GETY's advisor since its inception.

The TGE Youth Group focuses on fun and friendship; the main goal is to provide a Jewish connection for our kids. Events are planned throughout the year – typically once per month or two – and provide an extension of Temple life that goes beyond religious education.
Previous events have included a Chanukah Celebration at Chris Ridge Village Retirement Home, a kickoff Havdallah and pizza night and a regressive dinner on Purim concluding in the temple's Megillah reading.
