GETY - Grades 9 through 12

Gan Elohim Temple Youth (GETY), TGE's branch of the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY), was founded in December 2006 after a series of B'Nai Mitzvot in 2004 and 2005. With a focus on fun, friendship and social action, GETY participates in temple-level events such as bowling outings and trips to Gameworks. GETY members also have participated in NFTY Southwest-Pacific Regional Events, such as the Spring Kallah in north Phoenix.

Sharon Fisher, herself a NFTY graduate, has served as GETY's advisor since its inception.

Junior GETY - Grades 7-8

TGE's Junior GETY program, established in July 2007, takes on the challenge of providing a bridge for seventh- and eighth-grade students between their religious school years and b'nai mitzvah studies and their joining GETY, TGE's NFTY branch, the Gan Elohim Temple Youth.

Whether participating in the Phoenix Zoo's Walk on the Wild Side, spending a day at Castles and Coasters or performing mitzvah projects around Lake Pleasant, Junior GETY provides an array of programming options for its members.

Dan & Elysse Michelson serve as Jr. GETY's co-advisor.

Mini GETY - Grades 4 through 6

TGE's Mini GETY program focuses on fun and friendship; the main goal is to provide a Jewish connection for our kids. Events are planned throughout the year – typically once per month or two – and provide an extension of temple life that goes beyond religious education.

Previous events have included a Chanukah Celebration at Chris Ridge Village Retirement Home, a kickoff Havdallah and pizza night and a regressive dinner on Purim concluding in the temple's Megillah reading.

Religious School

Temple Gan Elohim's goal is to provide a program of academic studies and extracurricular activities that will enable students to participate in all phases of Jewish life. We make every effort to ensure that our students’ experiences here are meaningful, both educationally and spiritually.

It is our philosophy that as our children learn about Judaism, they connect with the generations that came before us and with those who will come after. It has been our experience that full participation and involvement helps to make a child’s experiences more effective not only during the school year, but for years to come.

Some of the programs offered to students include Shabbat services, specific grade level events and family activities.

Early Childhood Education

Temple Gan Elohim's Training Wheels program introduces pre-kindergarten students to the world of Jewish education. Through monthly programs, preschool age children have the opportunity to learn about Jewish holidays and begin the ever-important connection to their Jewish community.
